Available in 2 variations, a £30 Indie (Just for You, and no-one else) license, and a £90 Pro (For everyone who works with you, so long as you don't exceed the number of licenses previously agreed upon.)

Most of us will be happy with the £30 license, since it doesn't actually limit what you can and can't do with the actual engine. But be aware that it does say that the license is Non-Transferrable, so I don't think you'll be able to sell it on, later, if you're unhappy with it.

So, yeah, it's all there and ready to go, assuming you're still willing to give it a shot.

Hands up all who will be?

(For the meantime, I don't seem to have time to code in Blitz and on DS, never mind faffing about with Cobra, so I'll probably give it a miss for a while!)

hey hyrule,

I think my brother Wes has a MacBook Pro. He said he was going to get one and have it fully loaded, stocked and locked. true.
He gets a discount anyway from the University for buying one.

yeah, I hear that C++ is a handful in and by itself. But oh man, both BlitzMax and C++? Thats a lot and more than enough.

and hey, I didn't know you had a Nintendo DS. What?? I thought you just had the Wii.
any more news on that 3d module for BlitzMax?

hmmm...I wonder when a 3d module will come out for the Cobra.

cheers,

I wonder if there will ever be a Cobra 2D/3D as one package, it would be a good thing to have an all in one Setup.EXE. That way, it would be easier to set stuff up.

YEY!!! Im going to wait for the 3D module to come out to buy it.

I'm happy with C++. In fact, I wasn't too interested in it back on Coders' Workshop.

What you can do in Cobra you can probably do in C++ anyway. One problem though, I haven't learned C++ yet.

C++ is easy, unless you are a comi bastard

the IDEs are not as straight forward as the Blitz ones are as for debugging options. i prefer BMax though because it is so perfect but i have to learn C++ sooner or later so why not now while i have nothing to do besides worry about what a girl thinks of me.

I'm no comi bastard and I did both C and C++
many, many years ago and in this same galaxy
and on this planet Earth.

I used to code in both Microsoft C and also Turbo C/C++.
I have stacks of programs and homework assignments in my closet too. I jsut grew stale and dry on it. Maybe it did with me too.

um hyrule, does she have green hair?

cheers,

i wish she did but no

she is blonde and short and apparently her room is missing a wall so she sleeps on their family's couch and sneaks around at night when they are asleep. playing on the computer or watching TV usually

I have Blitz3d, Ruby and Java. Apart from C++ or a very different niche language (like Haskell) I see no reason to learn or get any other language currently. Even then, if I did want something like Cobra, I'd just get Blitz Max. Faster, more powerful, allows procedural and object-oriented paradigms and a better IDE. Cobra is also one of the few languages with worse documentation.

I honestly no longer see any reason in paying for a language. There are so many great free languages which usually always have more support and more capabilities.

As it happens, the next language I'd most like to learn would be C# and start getting to grips with the XNA framework.

Yes but Cobra has only just been released. I would be surprised if Blitz wasnt light on documentation when it first came out. Things like this will no doubt be improoved in updates. 30 quid is not exactly expensive, but then, yes i'd agree there seem to be a lot of good free languages too.
