Reminder to self dig out Badvent calendars

This year I've just bought a Hot Chocolate calendar, and it'll be interesting to see how far through I get without a ruddy great big migraine attack.
Hopefully more than one!!

Apologies that I don't have a better calendar. I certainly didn't want the ginormous Degusta calendar taking up bungalow space!! There's more than enough boxes around here, as it is.

Just got them out, I had left them on top of my bookcase in my studio.

I only have two. I left a bunch in TN, including some I had bought in MD. But, bought two once I got here and never bought more as they jacked up the prices on the one I wanted. Went from $17.99 from when I bought it in TN, to $27.99 since moving here.

I am bringing gemstones and stuffed animals to the Badvent.

FWIW, hot chocolate one would do me in. Nowadays, it instantly triggers IBS.

Never been a coffee guy, but back in the day I would drink hot chocolate all day long. Man, I miss those days. Can't even drink soda now or even eat chocolate due to bladder issue.

With the typo on the rock one, I am not sure if they were aiming for collecting or collection. I am guessing the former. Either way, it only adds to the Badvent mystique.

Will I get actual gemstones, or will it just be fish gravel? With such $$ spent on the box art, I have to wonder.

As to the stuffed animals, well, it is kinda hard to mess those up, but we can hope and pray for the worst. Based on the numbers being randomly placed and not in order, one can only wonder what surprises are in store.

Just noticed both of mine are 24 days, so no payoff for Christmas Day.

Looks, good Jay. Sadly, chocolate is one of those things I can't eat anymore.

3:40 am here, only up to let the doggies out to do their business, in the snow.

Will take my pics once I am up properly later today.

I am going to make a post for each calendar. Easier that way since it will take some time to type all the info for the gemstone each day. Also today, showing the front of each box.

Stuffed animals...

Will it be cute?

Gemstones. I love the moon on this box. I also like how on both calendars the cover flips open and shut, so you can keep your open ones in place when you put it up.

What will it be?

(Info about the gemstone below the picture in the second reveal.)

Ole' Kuron hasn't participated in this since 2014, at least when it comes to doing an actual calendar, and we are missing one of our previous contributors, so Ole' Kuron is trying to make up for lost time and try and add some extra content.

I have asked ChatGPT to participate, and explained the concept and pick what type of Advent Calendar he would want and then what would be in each single day. I think he did fairly good and for the ones not so good, well, it is BADVENT.

That sounds like a fun and creative tradition! If I were to participate in Badvent with an imaginary advent calendar, I might choose a theme related to programming and technology. Let's call it the "CodeCraft Calendar." Here's a whimsical list of what might be inside each day:

Carolyn was big on hazelnut. Hazelnut coffee, hazelnut milk, hazelnut flavored hazelnuts, etc. But she would not have liked runny hot chocolate. Usually when they tell you to just add water, it is because it already has powdered milk in it to thicken it up.

But we have a brand over here Swiss Miss that is horrible and runny. Nestles hot chocolate is so much better and smooth and creamy.

Kinda glad I didn't get one of those rock calendars, because I was going to go full piss-take and go "another bloody rock" every day. I get the feeling you might've been offended had I done that.
... but, yeah, cool rocks...!

I have loved gemstones since a child. Very special to me, especially spending so many summers in Cherokee, North Carolina. I also make jewelry. Gemstones are wonderful and not just for the metaphysical aspect.
