 		Yes, it's true!

Pixar is actually releasing Renderman for free. This is the engine they've used to render all their movies.
Personally I'm more into 2D movies myself, but this is still pretty astonishing. Especially considering you can now get Autodesks products for free (student license?) for three years at a time!!

.. A phrase that always disheartens me.

I prefer to be on the "Definitely Right" side of things.
If I used this to create a silly animation with Platdude or maybe a Spike, or something (which, realistically, is what I'd use it for) then, IMMEDIATELY, that could be misconstrued as me attempting to advertise my commercial games.
Dodgy territory.

I pretty much have to sit on the fence with anything like that. Frustrating as hell..

But nice that something that powerful is free.
(But.. Wasn't it free, like 2 or 3 years ago? I'm sure I've posted about it, before!)
