GfK	Well.... that was hard. :/ Never seen one person wired up to so many machines. I just wanted to turn around and run off. :s He couldn't talk properly cos of having the tube down his throat yesterday.... which was handy cos he was talking bloody gibberish anyway. He swore blind I'd been playing golf last night! I don't play golf. Also didn't believe me that the op was done with - he thought it was still Saturday. Spoke to the doctor and it turned out that the bleeding was pretty minor and happens a lot. The second op happened less than an hour after the first ended. I can't get up there again til next weekend but my brother is going tomorrow - hopefully he'll be back to planet earth by then. Funny day... mixed feelings.

Jayenkai	I wouldn't worry about nonesensical things.. If nothing else, it's probably down to a bunch of tablets and stuff. God knows I was tallking bollocks! There are also reports of my sleepwalking, something I don't think I normally do. It's good to hear that he's at least trying to talk through the tubes and things. Dabz	Yeah, it's a big operation he's just had, so, just try to see past the tubage, they are there for the best, and as jay said, he's probably loaded up to the eyelids for pain relief... I had morphine when I come round, that's good stuff mind! All in all, he's on the other side which means he's on the mend, hopefully he'll have a speedy recovery! GfK	Long night... got woke up by phone call at 3:30am. He's gone off to hospital in an ambulance. Waiting for more tests but at the moment it might be unrelated. Either a stomach ulcer due to the ton of meds he's on, or most likely food poisoning. Long story as to how that came about but apparently he's been eating stuff that was so far out of date you wouldn't give it to a dog. If that's the case, harsh words are going to be had. Fooking knackered, pissed off, and it's not even 8am yet.

GfK	Going to be in at least a couple of days again - having a cam down tomorrow, then if that doesn't show anything, a cam in the trade exit. :/ Doctor atm thinks it's most likely the side effects of taking aspirin (to thin the blood) - it can cause stomach ulcers and all sorts, but won't know for sure til at least tomorrow. Having Googled it, I'd gather up all the meds and flush the lot down the fucking bog. Cause more problems than they solve.

GfK	Am fucking raging. He's awaiting a camera down to check for stomach ulcers. Was supposed to be this morning so he's been "nil by mouth" since yesterday. They still haven't done it cos they have a backlog for the equipment they need to use - all thanks to the fucking junior doctors who deemed it "safe" to go on strike. As a result, they now have a 75 year old who has not had any food or water for 29 hours. My brother is up at the hospital now. He's about twice as big as me, and is even more fucked off than I am. Letters of complaint are being written to the chief exec. Because this is a fucking appalling level of care.

rockford	Sometimes, I'm ashamed to admit that I work for the NHS BTW I don't support the junior doctor's strike with regards to payment and working conditions - they knew what they were signing upto before joining. Nursing staff have to work 365 days a year 24/7, why not the doctors? It is a 24hour service after all (in theory). I do however accept that changing contracts without negotiation is shit. But this didn't need to compromise patient care. Which it obviously has. And continues to do so. That is not on.

GfK	Yes! Ten bloody minutes! They've said that's how long it'll take. I don't mind it being delayed, per se... but I'd feel guilty if I forgot to feed my dog for a day and a half! But this is an actual elderly person in NHS so-called care who had open-heart surgery less than a fucking month ago and is deliberately NOT being fed! It's beyond words.

steve_ancell	The same sort of thing happened to my brother in law when he had a stroke, he was left for ages without food and hanging for a crap but nobody was answering the call buzzer most of the time. My sister went fucking apeshit when she found out.

GfK	Finally got the camera in this evening.... after three entire days of sitting there waiting. Turns out he has a duodenal ulcer, which cos of the aspirin he's taking to thin his blood, has perforated, resulting in internal bleeding which he's had to have a transfusion for. This has fucked me off even more as I learned when he was in hospital the first time that he's had heartburn a hell of a lot for the last few months and has a stash of Gaviscon by the bed. Heartburn is one of the most common symptoms of duodenal ulcers. Did he mention any of that to the hospital? No. No he didn't. Fingers crossed he might be out tomorrow... then we get to sorting a stern letter to the chief exec and NHS ombudsman as to how this car-crash of a hospital is allowed to function the way that they do.
